The Callahan presents a rare collection of artifacts related to both the educational history of the blind and to the history of American Printing House. The inspirational facility offers many hands-on options for the sighted and for hearing-, mobility-, and visually-impaired visitors. In addition, certain exhibits simulate what it's like to be blind as a way to increase visitor understanding of how blind people achieve self-sufficiency. The museum provides an outstanding, wide-ranging collection of research materials too, and guided tours are available. Handicapped accessible.

Situated more than 40 feet above the river, the Falls overlook some of the world's largest and oldest Devonian fossils, offering a spectacular view via the observation room's eighteen-foot tall windows. Additional exhibits and spectacular multi-media give further insight into the history of the Falls, while wall-sized viewing window and concealed, exterior microphone allow visitors to observe wildlife up close. Enjoy fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Year-round group tours are available. Gift shop, two educational classrooms and research library.

The business began in 1795 and celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1995. John Hay Center

SALEM. Born in 1838 in Salem, John Hay was a politician, ambassador, and writer. His distinguished career included appointments under Presidents Lincoln, McKinley, and Roosevelt. He was also author of the "Pike County Ballads," an editorial writer for the New York "Tribune," and a successful businessman. His noteworthy accomplishments are commemorated in this fine museum. Along with the Hay house, the center includes Stevens Memorial Museum, a genealogical library, and a pioneer village. Approximately 35 miles north of Louisville.
